HI
I’M MARY

(She/Her)

MY STORY

I grew up in the Minneapolis area in a cake-eating suburb. Ventured off to the exotic Ames, IA for college, majoring in Art & Design, and Environmental Studies.

After moving back to MN, I started as a Marketing Assistant at Lakewinds Food Co-op. The next thing I knew, I was the Design & Production Specialist, overseeing all visual content and managing our many print & digital projects.

In 2019, I started my own business, doing graphic design & marketing consulting, working on projects from T-shirt designs, social content development, to photoshoot direction. In February 2020 - I completed the University of Minnesota’s Full-stack Coding and Web Development Bootcamp, where I learned even more technical skills to apply to my design mind.

Covid came along. Woof.

My first big web design project for the Lake Street Council abruptly shifted gears after the murder of George Floyd, and the office for the Lake Street Council, and a giant portion of Lake Street was destroyed. The next day, we put together ILoveLakeStreet.com, which raised $12,000,000 in a few short weeks to help local businesses recover and rebuild.

My other favorite web design client, The Coven - a network of workspaces for radical changemakers, decided to keep me around full-time! As the current Marketing Manager on a nimble team for a quickly growing company, I still get to wear my web designer hat. I’ve stepped into systems administration for our network of nearly 1000 members, planned and executed marketing campaigns, managed social and digital marketing, and supported our growing community of franchisees of Coven locations across the midwest.

My skill set & network have led me to do some incredibly impactful development and design work for non-profits, creatives, and women-led businesses!

Can I add your project or role to my list of accomplishments?
